Extreme Kernel #1

So,it's kernel based on source code 2.6.35.14 by Shkerzy (thnx) and compilied with:
*OC to 900 MHz (not all OT-990 supported freq > 825 MHz)
*Disable fsync (fs)
*Add governors Intelldemand,Interactive
*Small fix for dynamic freq range when screen on/off
*Fix modules
*Dynamic freq range must be disable from sysfs

I hope that our work together will bring succes in compiling the new roms. (Gulyuk S.)

  1. Cool kernel ! I like new governors and frequency :D

    Thanks Sergey :D

  2. is this kernel going to work with QME 2.0?

    1. No, on QME rom uses another ramdisk.

    2. ok, tnanks. i'm thinkimg to downgrade on 2.2.2 and install ewra for better battery. will it be better?

      Delete
    3. yes, ewra is more battery save...but you can give me the boot.img from your QME rom and I repack with new kernel

    6. so I have to insert this boot.img into qme, flash it and than use this extreme kernel?

    7. no, you must unpack the extreme_kernel.zip and replace into folder - boot.img to this boot.img (http://rghost.ru/40076559), then pack to *.zip boot.img + META-INF + modules (in unpack folder)...because in extrem_kernel.zip have modules for new kernel..I hope you understand me)))) then flash it via recovery

    8. I'm sorry for lating, it's done, just to test it and so.. Thank you ewra, but is safe to try 900mhz, or 850? you know, it's on my own risk to try...

    9. Sadly, with this kernel wifi doesn't work... Is that fixable?

  3. Look Shkerzy, when i set governor to ondemand my phone can run 825 but after about 10 min phone freezes and restart, so can you tell me what is the best combination of governors and scheulders to run as higher frequency as possible ! :D

(and sorry about my english but i hope you understand) :)))

    1. This kernel was compiled by me,and,if you set other governor and scheduler is it also reboot the system?

      Delete
  4. Yes ,but ondemand can run this frequency (825mhz) longer than any other :P

    1. Some OT 990 also not work on high freq then 787 MHz, its specific of processor type, I think

  5. Thanks Sergey everything is working ! I am running my OT990 on 900MHz. Keep up the good work!

You can overclock to 900 mhz ?!

      LOLL !! I can't 852 :( xD

    2. I am Sergeys v5h6-0 with ICS MOD. It's working stable.
Here is the image : http://tinyurl.com/93nxtur

I did some tests with SetCPU :
      Short Bench - 268ms at 900Mhz.
      Long Bench - 6605ms at 900Mhz.
      Native Bench - 1995.628418ms at 900Mhz.
Stress Test was runing for about 10 minutes at 900Mhz,no errors.

    3. I have also tested it with original Telenor SR OT990 ROM and it's working perfectly.

  6. I don't know what is with my CPU :P

In CWM i select factory reset and i install setcpu select governonr ondemand scheulder bfq and set max freq to 852 and it works !

But i try to select higher to 864 it freezes and reboot, i select 852 mhz again and now my phone freezes and reboot .....LOL

    (sorry about english)

    1. It's so called semi-stsable freq, because your CPU cant handle 852 MHz at standard voltage. Dont push it with factory restarts, that only suppress undervolted state, you will burn it out eventualy.

    2. I've heard of it but if it can be corrected by editing the kernel, will then be able to be a little more clocked?

      Delete
    3. And thanks for (just one normal) answer ! :D

    4. If we could get control over CPU voltages, OC will become much more flexible, but I am not aware of existence of such kernel for OT-990.

Editing default CPU voltages table (undervolting on lower clocks will save battery even more and overvolting on higher frequencies can make possible to go a bit more beyond current limits, but it is also dangerous) hypothetically can make your CPU work stable on 852 or even 900 MHz.

    5. all of you are right, I think that's maybe a little older CPU does not have to mean that it can not be overclocked too much like 900 mhz :)

  7. Can I install this kernel on stock 2.3.4, best regards and thank you for all your hard work!

  8. Is this new Kernel for all stock roms or is it only for your rom (ewra rom?) Can I install it in my factory froyo 2.2.2?

    1. Well Thank you, when installing it, I could read that it is only for gingerbread, my phone kept on restarting. Thank God I did a backup before.
Thank you anyway for your hard work, we really appreciate it.

btw, I tryed kernel you gave me for QME and it works great except wifi. Can you do something about that?

    3. Are you tryed replace modules by hand from this archive in Root Explorer?

  15. Hi Gulyuk! MSM7227 is really popular CPU and a lot phones are using it.
I saw there's a Xperia X10 mini module for undervolting for example.
Can we include it in our kernel by any chance?

By decreasing voltage and possibly increasing frequency at the same time we could be getting a fast mobile phone with decent battery life.

    1. You're right. It's most used on low-end phones and old phones but it's still alive :D MSM7227 can be clocked to 1Ghz but it's not stable...:)

    1. it's not compatible, as we have now

/* This value has been set to 160000 for power savings. */
/* OEMs may modify the value at their discretion for performance */
/* The appropriate maximum replacement for 160000 is: */
      /* clk_get_max_axi_khz() */
      kgsl_pdata.high_axi_3d = 160000;

and max maybe as 200000 (because adreno 200)
