I have a few problems with this rom: 1) the wifi keeps disconnecting and 2) I can not lock the phone using the power button, while long-pressing does bring up the power button, so it is not broken. I must say that this is the best rom I have ever seen for our phone, good work :)
And also I cant find Google Play. I installed Gapps but still... When I go to Manage Applications, I can see that it is installed but cant find it in Menu...
I used google translate and I found this on that forum: "This firmware is not activated by default lock screen by pressing the Power On / Off - opening Spare Parts, click "Behavior button End" and select Hibernate" This must be "go to sleep".
YES Wifi is working! The error on my device was that its mac address had changed, and since my router used a mac filter I was blocked from the network. So I changed my router and now everything is working fine!
On this ROM Internet over GSM works, but Wireless does not. I will fix it when I figure out what is wrong with it. Also camera works fine, image is not wrongly rotated anymore. I haven't had time to test bluetooth and GPS. You don't need to flash gapps on this rom, they are included.
Dude,i would like to kiss you now,but it sound to gay! You are awesom,i am going to work on this rom as much as i can! I am a full MIUI fan. Can you give me some contact info, like facebook i will try to help you fix wi-fi,bt is working fine,i didn't test GPS because i don't have a network conection.
Cannot open "/system/wlan/broadcom/wpa_supplicant.conf": No such file or directory E/WifiHW ( 199): Wi-Fi will not be enabled E/WifiHW ( 199): ioctl failed: No such device
dude, BT,GPS and other will be work fine on this port and on CM7 too, because it we fixed. your port rom only graphical shell, but your not changed some files and put unnecessary system files from original rom MIUI, than you have problem with WiFI. also, about camera - in this rom not Miui Camera :D this camera from CM7, compiled for Spica (front camera in this app make photo with rotate 90)
Yes of course, these all roms (Lewa, Joy, Miui...) are just graphical and app modification of CM7, so everything under the hood is actually CM7. These problems with wifi and root are probably because of the permissions, since the files are there and he is saying that they are not. Also toolbox shell commands do work, but the busybox do not, so I can't chmod on the fly to check if it actually is the permission problem.
I tried building it again from scratch without adding any unnecessary system files from MIUI rom, but not it is stuck on infinite loop at boot. Here is the logcat dump:
http://pastebin.com/3VmPMMtA
The only thing I can deduct from this dump is that ext partition is not mounting, but I cannot understand why, since I didn't change any CM7 scripts. It might have to do something with yaffs2, but the Gulyuk's kernel should have support for it, and the libs are there...
I am out of ideas on what could be wrong. Here is what I know so far:
On the working version that I've uploaded above folders /system/wlan/ and /system/xbin are not accessible/existent. I can't be sure if the actually do exist or not since the busybox and superuser does not work because of the /system/xbin folder, so I can't chmod, ls and execute other busybox commands. I've tried to set explicit permissions in updater scripts but it did not work for me. When these two folders get accessible, everything should work fine.
Hello nice work, only i have a problem whit a lockscreen when i instal a new theme for this MUI, the lockscreei are to large not correkt set resolution i think.. try to fix it :S
Hey! Thanks for your work, it's just awesome to have a working MIUI. I've tried to port this GT540 ROM below, but I got a bootloop each time at the same point. I checked it with logcat and it started to loop after setting the volume for incoming calls or sg like that.
"All MIUI ROMs available on any device contain hdpi graphics while our phone has mdpi ones. Our phone has to resize graphics to mdpi in real time causing stuttering and lack of ram." - This ROM has thousands of .pngs resized to mdpi, so the phone doesn't have to do it in real-time. This should give a much smoother user experince, maybe better battery-life as well.
I though you could port it, since you've managed to cope with this MIUI as well. Please give it a shot!:D Thanks in advance!
@Krisztián Csúszó Well these themes you are downloading through Theme manager are all HDPI, and this phone is LDPI. When you apply these themes make sure you untick Locker and Bootmanager since these two are not able to resize themes on the fly. You can resize themes by yourself if you really like some themes. You can also look here for some already resized MDPI locker themes: http://my80vity.blogspot.com/2011/12/milocker-lockscreen-for-android.html
@milangfx I am already using resized and MDPI images for the ROM. I have a new version ready and uploaded and I will release the links for it when I sort them out a bit. That new version is much faster. Launcher is 100% smooth and settings menu is much faster but still not 100% smooth.
Can you make a specific description of what is done in this Rom? Because for some people will be interesting read the full description instead "faster" or "smooth". Then I create new theme for this rom(Only what works in cm7, is not required to write in description )
I almost forgot, Lewa OS not only a graphic modification, this OS have their applications and libraries. Maybe MIUI too, but I'm not install this firmware, only read the comment and screenshots - miui even look like a lewa os
Changeset: 1. Updated to MIUI version 2.4.20 2. Much faster interface (Settings menu is still not 100% smooth, but it is much better) 3. Implemented Torch fix from Gulyuk 4. Long press Home button while locked to light up the Torch 5. New modified ported theme that better fits this screen resolution 6. MIUI File Explorer with root support 7. MIUI Gallery instead QuickPic 8. Fixed rotation for both front and back cameras 9. Removed MIUI camera since it is too laggy and buggy. Use regular camera instead 10. Changed some media profiles 11. Proximity Screen Off Lite included, but you still need to set it up manually (see screenshots to see how to set it up) 12. Some other small fixes...
WARNING!! Uncheck lockscreen and boot animation when installing themes from the integrated Theme Manager app!! If you want to change the locker screen download ported locker themes from the provided link or from this location: http://my80vity.blogspot.com/2011/12/milocker-lockscreen-for-android.html
friend as I can extract the baseband on my Alcatel Ot 990?, Because I have a problem with the 3g and i read that it is caused by the baseband, I mean, the baseband is located in the partition "FOTA" of the phone and I need to extract the baseband to change it, because it tells the phone I have the 3g k works in frequency 900 and 1800 and my phone works in frequency 850 and 1900, I have another question you know how I can change it?
Sorry for typing errors is that use google translator
haha not understand me, what I meant was that when you update my android version from 2.2 to 2.3 by a method I saw on a blog (http://infinitydown.info/como-actualizar-alcatel-ot-990-a -gingerbread /), the baseband will change and i read that is why I have no 3G connection, and would like you to help me with this problem because as I have understood many people this happened to you, please help
PS: if you want you can download the file called PACK2.zip and when I extract a file called FOTA.img really there I think this is where the baseband Thanks for your great work
Sorry, I'm work only with source code (cm7/9,lewa os,aosp, code aurora). But I think problem in boot.img (broken symlink for sbin),you can repack it with normal mkimage utility
i meant to say that i have read an article about lewa roms. it said that lewa roms are collecting the user's position and imei number without the user's permission. do you know anything about this?
Official ROM Lewa OS have only 2 languages - chinese and english, but in this port I added support russian for me. How to ?? . please help me. I can't extract file system

ReplyDeleteYou have pictures on that thread. http://prntscr.com/n99iw
Deletehappy day which includes languages this rom? and so does the consumption of the battery?
ReplyDeleteGulyuk,LEWA rom, it can support the language Vietnamese does not?
ReplyDeleteSorry this support the language spanish?
ReplyDeleteOfficial ROM Lewa OS have only 2 languages - chinese and english, but in this port I added support russian for me.
ReplyDeleteBattery eat 1% since 00.00-06.30, its good result, because on stock firmware it was 40-60%
is there google apps for this rom? Gapps for your CM7 does not work with my phone + lewa rom.
ReplyDeleteGoogle apps not work with this rom :/
ReplyDelete@milinko and @the szabi at accounts & sync settings must enable background data first.
ReplyDeleteI have a few problems with this rom: 1) the wifi keeps disconnecting and 2) I can not lock the phone using the power button, while long-pressing does bring up the power button, so it is not broken.

Same here. It looks really cool and I really want to use it but I cant connect with wifi, so I had to get back to CM7.
DeleteAnd also I cant find Google Play. I installed Gapps but still... When I go to Manage Applications, I can see that it is installed but cant find it in Menu...

DeleteSO FAR I LIKE YOUR WORK!!!!!
if its only a preview then it's not that bad!!!!
i'll wait for the next then Rom
Will there be MIUI rom port?
ReplyDeleteThere is a fullface MIUI theme for Lewa OS.
DeleteIt is easy to port roms now when we have a working CM7. Here, I ported MIUI:
ReplyDeletehttp://www.tuxtard.com/download/miui_ot-990_2.4.6.1.zip

Did you try copying the wifi libs from the working cm7 rom to the miui or lewa rom?
DeleteI did. This one is based on the latest version of CM7 from this blog.

E/WifiHW ( 199): Wi-Fi will not be enabled
E/WifiHW ( 199): ioctl failed: No such device
... but the file is there...
Try to copy driver bcm439.ko,i don't know correct name, and paste it into your kernel, maybe that should solve problem
DeleteThe kernel and libs are all taken from the CM7, so there are all working drivers in there. The problem is somewhere in accessing them.
DeleteYou should serach on google, maybe MIUI need some modifications...And why i don't have root acess on MIUI ?
Deletehey, i want to port joy os to our phone but i cant find what rom will i use to port to ours . any help ?
DeleteCM7,but joyos is alredy ported by Russian developers ! :/
Deletewhere ? Can u give me the link ?

you lose fonts files in /system/fonts
DeleteNo, they are there. I mean they are located in custpack/fonts, and in updater script symlink is properly set, like in your CM7.

I was able to fix it after all. In this version wifi, busybox, superuser and brightness slider are fixed. You can get it from the same link as before:
