EWRA 0.2 (H)


Kernel:
  • supported new I/O scheduler BFQ (as default)
  • max freq 787 MHz
  • remove freq 729,768 (no active frequency)
Firmware:
  • Fastboot in Power Menu
  • fix bugs for BT and Wi Fi
  • Add new language pack Hungarian
  • Some fixes in the system

Install EWRA ROM available via Recovery as update.zip

Download:  ewra_0.2(h) and kernel with max req 825 Mhz available at here (also as update.zip)!



Warning: I forgot to say that after applied odexed script the Root Explorer stops working!
Later, I'll correct it or you can pre-install another File Manager (+root) then odexed rom

      Yes,but you can use the 3rd party apps as:
      Backup to Gmail,SMS bacup + and other
      Then flash it ;)

    We have the Telenor firmware with Serbian language on Froyo 2.2 if you mean on this , just i dont know how to do backup of whole rom so i can send it to you. Please tell me what i need to do and sure i will do it and send it to you?

    This is the full rom so you should be able to install it without installing ewra 0.2 first.

      Nike, you must downgrade from 2.3.4 to 2.2.2 first.
      Then you can flash Ewra to your phone.

    825Mhz works fast and stable i think that cpu can go even higher , the same cpu with default 600mhz is factory overclocked to 800 mhz and placed in some other mobile phones , keep trying to find max frequency that cpu can handle.

    yes, in any processor have max freq, but many vendors not set it - it's the safety precautions for reducing the lifetime...and OC it's own risk

    Following you from the begining of ot-990 rom development, and i must say - great work. I just want to ask if it is possible to compile kernel with cifs support (i don't know if there is an option or support by the kernel for compiling cifs module)can you enable it for the next release.

      To mount shared folder with this module you can:
      1) write commands directly to terminal (load module, mount shared folder, umount)
      2.1) create script to simplify the mounting proces(you can use gscript to execute the script ), for example:
      #insmod /system/lib/modules/cifs.ko
      #busybox mount -t cifs //192.168.1.2/Share /sdcard/Samba -o username=guest
      /* Usage:
      mount -t cifs /// / -o username=,password=
      */
      2.2) script for umounting samba share
      #busybox umount /sdcard/Samba
      3) Using cifsmanager (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=ws.plattner.cifsmanager)

      Let's say you want to share folder Music. Right click on that folder, select Properties > Sharing > Advanced Sharing > Share this folder.
      Then you can use address to that folder to mount it, for example: 192.168.1.4/Music

    I find only 2 problem:
    - the ttsservice dont work, and i dont find the .apk in the system or the cuspack - i have the 2.3.4 ttsservice but isnt work on 2.2, if somebody send me, i appreciate it
    - the original videocamcorder crash all the time - but i install the latest lgcamera pro and its work fine.

    1- "Preparing SD card; Checking for errors" it takes along long time , but i solve it by deleting "fsck_msdos" from "system/bin" .. and now it is very great .. thanks alot

      Сначала сделай так,чтоб Root Explorer установился в /data/app,то есть зайди в /custpack/app и там нажми на RootExplorer.apk,установи его,согласившись с заменой данных и потом загрузись в рекавери и прошей этот odexed.zip скрипт как обычно

    Hi Sergey , just to ask you when you work on aplying Serbian language dont integrate it on 825Mhz , on androidserbia.com forum many ppl cant start it on their phone and some can , it is something with hardware also , examp my phone works well on 825 but i instaled also on another phone and that phone cannot start.

    gulyuk, подскажи пожалуйста, как обновить Holo Launcher?
    Поверх не ставится, а удалить и поставить новую версию нельзя, поскольку это единственный лончер.
    Вариант преобразования в пользовательское приложение не прошёл. Преобразование происходит, приложение перебрасывается в /data/app, но при попытке установки поверх, всё равно пишет, что приложение системное и не устанавливается.
    Как быть? Помоги.

      хм...станно,но у меня поверх того что в /custpack/app поставился в /data/app как обычно,ты не модификацию ставишь?если не выходит,используй сторонний еще какой-нибудь типа Zeam,переключись на него и удали отовсюду Holo,затем ставь

      maybe, but you can write line code in script of init.d and set the max freq for you:

      well belive it or not, i now tried to use camera, and boom, it bagged and phone restarted...maybe it's because of OC.. but i keep it on 787.. when i entered camcoder i don't get picture it was black, with some lines (white), like tv when no signal something like that..
      and bi fixing i didn't mention this, i was thinking of poor camera performace, when recording, and sometimes when taking picture...

      but sebastian custom rom's based on stock firmware,trust me,his rom was not compile from aosp source code and of course he did not modify the kernel

      hmm...Have you never compared this firmware? stock,sebastian and my?That they are similar?

      I'm third day use the kernel with max freq 864 and this is very well :P

      Maybe who had crashes on OC kernel have the model - alcatel ot 990A?

    On my phone the bluetoot, the data and the display rotation works hectic. When I reboot my phone thhey are work correct baut about 2-3 hours later they cant turn on. When I reboot with wifi on then they arent works, when I reboot without wifi work correct a few hours.

    also i try install update kernel and phone dont boot after logo!!

    Dunno if this gonna be useful, but any feedback is good feedback :D
    I surfed forums tonight, and I found out that some other phones with custom roms similar to this, had frequency issues which involved freeze/restart, but it turned out that problem was related with low sdcard speed which messed up dalvik transfer/usage.

    It's not likely, but maybe that can be the same problem some ppl are having with Ewra here...what do you think?

    Beside that, wanted to let you know that I'm running 0.2h with max freq for 2 days now, with no problems of any kind(fixed connectivity issue with mctweaker, didn't check for BT issues). Now gonna try and see how rom behaves when apps like ATK and JuiceDefender are used, gonna aim for long battery life.

      Sorry,but the firmware without ui modification is lost:( though, if you only need a overclock, I can the upload this kernel(only)

    I noticed that with this rom and any custom rom , my 3g doesnt work anymore . i have found a 3gfix file but no one has it in update.zip . anyone else have no 3g?
